And to clarify, the Battle of New York was a fair battle in the sense that both sides observed the standard rules of engagement, but it was a one-sided or mismatched battle given the British advantages and American errors. It's pretty amazing to learn that the war was so close to having a entirely different outcome -- something few Americans realize.
